- Definetly recommend to get multi-entry Brunei visa if you plan to go from Brunei to Sabah (Malaysia)*
It is very highly advisable to get a multiple-entry visa for Brunei if you plan to travel from Bandar Seri Begawan to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah by bus. You will be crossing the border between Brunei and Malaysia several times, since there are enclaves of Brunei territories within the Malaysian state of Sabah, with one of them being the Temburong District. That results in 6–7 passport stamps during the whole trip.
Without a multiple-entry visa, you won’t be allowed to re-enter Brunei after exiting to Malaysia. This might raise serious travel disruptions and further need for the amendment of your travel plans. For a better understanding, have a look at the Brunei Darussalam map on Google Maps and understand the route and how often you cross the border en-route.
Having a multiple-entry visa ensures smooth travel and avoids potential issues with immigration authorities during this journey.
Remember that having a visa doesn’t guarantee entry into Brunei. The final decision rests with immigration officials at the point of entry.
Note: This information is current as of 07 November 2024. Requirements and fees may change based on country that you apply. Always verify the latest requirements with the Brunei consulates or embassies before applying.
